Background:
Leaders International (LI) plans and delivers innovation and economic development interventions with a particular focus on private-sector development, entrepreneurship, job creation, digital transformation, and access to markets. The organization manages a multi-million active portfolio of grants and service contracts to ensure the economy’s access to the necessary means and resources for development and economic prosperity. Through its projects, LI leverages its expertise in research, strategy, and management to provide its beneficiaries with sustainable technical and financial assistance, and build their capacity and resilience to adapt to different economic challenges.
Project Background:
In light of increased social tension and the spread of harmful media content in the MENA region, Digital Innovations for Peace (DIP) aims to nurture the resilience of societies in Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon in the digital sphere. To achieve this, LI will bring together creative entrepreneurs, digital technology activists, and media professionals to support the development of innovative media and information literacy solutions, with a special focus on tackling disinformation. Furthermore, the project will create a cross-regional network for professional exchange and capacity building to promote innovative, high-quality reporting on conflict-related topics. Ultimately, the project will find innovative, localized ways to make use of the ongoing digital transformation to develop and ensure the viability of quality media in the region.
Scope of Work:
Leaders International (LI) is searching for a service provider to help us transfer multiple prizes and subgrants efficiently and securely, ensuring that they reach the intended beneficiaries in a timely manner.
The service provider will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Developing a comprehensive plan for the distribution of subgrants and prizes, taking into account the specific needs and requirements of each country.
2. Setting up a secure and efficient payment procedures that can handle multiple currencies and payment methods.
3. Providing regular reports on the transfer of funds, including information on the number of beneficiaries, amounts transferred, and any issues or challenges encountered.
4. Handling any disputes or complaints related to the transfer of subgrants and prizes, and taking appropriate action to resolve them.
5. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to the
distribution of funds.
• The distribution of funds (prizes and subgrants) will be as follows:
o The total budget for the prizes is €27,000 expected for 27 prizes (beneficiaries).
o The total budget of the subgrants is €56,000 expected for 8 subgrants.
Deliverables:
The service provider will be expected to deliver the following:
1. A detailed distribution plan, including timelines, procedures, and risk management strategies.
2. A secure and efficient payment procedure that can handle multiple currencies and payment methods.
3. Regular reports on the transfer of funds, including information on the number of beneficiaries, amounts distributed, and any issues or challenges encountered.
4. Documentation of the verification process for each recipient, including identity verification and eligibility checks.
5. A system for handling disputes and complaints related to the distribution of funds.
6. Documentation of compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to the distribution of funds.
Timeline:
The service provider should be able to start work within two weeks of being awarded the contract. The initial contract will be till the end of the project on 31/08/2024, with the possibility of an extension based on the project’s timeline.
